How do I block a slot or set an unavailability?

From the calendar, open the + New menu and choose Block time: pick the whole day or a time range, add a reason, and the grid grays out right away.

Updated on July 3, 2026

From the calendar, click the + New CTA and choose Block time. A panel opens with two modes: "Whole day" or "Time range." Fill in the date (and the hours if you pick a range), add a reason if you like, then save: the blocked area shows up grayed out on the grid right away.

Open the block panel

The main CTA in the calendar toolbar offers a two-item menu once time blocking is available: "New appointment" and "Block time." On mobile, the same choice opens as a bottom sheet.

Choose the block mode

  • Whole day: you block an entire date. If the day is empty, it becomes a day off. If appointments are already booked that day, the block is spread automatically across the remaining free ranges around those appointments: you don't lose any already confirmed appointment.
  • Time range: you pick a specific date and a start and end time. Useful for training, a personal appointment, or a one-off closure of a few hours.

Add a reason

An optional reason field lets you keep track of why you blocked the time (time off, training, medical appointment...). This reason then shows on the grayed-out block in the grid, useful for you or the rest of the studio team.

What happens after saving

The blocked range shows up immediately grayed out on the calendar grid, on the right date. A client can no longer book that slot, whether from your dashboard or from your online booking page. The block stays editable or removable at any time by clicking on it.

Edge cases

An appointment is already booked on the day you want to block. Nothing gets overwritten: the system automatically splits the block around existing appointments, which stay visible and confirmed.

The block refuses to save. Check that it doesn't overlap an appointment already confirmed on that exact time range: a safeguard prevents blocking a slot that already contains an appointment.

You just want to adjust your lunch break. That's not a regular block: the lunch break has its own, faster setting, directly from the block shown on the grid.

You want to edit or remove an existing block. Click directly on the grayed-out block in the grid: the edit panel opens with the same fields, plus a delete option.
