How does the unified inbox work?
Instagram, Messenger, email, and quote requests in a single list: navigation, filters, statuses, and notifications of the Sweb inbox.
Updated on July 3, 2026
The Messaging page centralizes every client exchange (Instagram, Messenger, email) and your quote request threads in a single list. You no longer need to juggle several apps to answer your clients.
Navigate the inbox
The screen splits into three zones: the conversation list on the left, the message thread in the center, and a client info panel on the right (can be hidden). On mobile, you browse the list first, then open a conversation full screen.
Each row shows the contact's avatar, a channel icon (Instagram, Messenger, email), the last message, the time, and a badge if the conversation is unread.
Filter and search
The filter bar at the top of the list lets you narrow the display by channel, by status (open, pending, resolved), or by text search. Handy to quickly find a specific conversation in a busy stream of messages.
Start a new conversation
The "+" button at the top of the page opens a 3-step flow: pick an existing client or create a new one, then pick the channel. Due to a Meta restriction, you can never start an Instagram or Messenger conversation yourself, the client has to write to you first. You can, however, start an email freely.
Reply to a message
Type your reply in the composer at the bottom of the thread (Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line break). For an email, Subject, CC, and BCC fields appear above it. You can also send a photo, a video, or a voice message directly from the composer.
Mark resolved or mute notifications
The menu at the top right of the thread lets you mark a conversation as resolved once the topic is closed, or mute notifications to pause it without closing it.
Instagram and Messenger reply window
On Instagram and Messenger, Meta enforces a 24-hour window after the client's last message to reply freely (extendable to 7 days in some cases). A badge next to the conversation shows where you stand: green when the window is wide open, orange then red as it approaches closing. Once closed, sending a message is blocked and a link offers an alternative.
Edge cases
A conversation stays marked as unread even though I've read it. It only marks as read once you've scrolled to the bottom of the thread with the tab active. If you've scrolled up into the history, it stays unread until you return to the bottom.
I can no longer reply to an Instagram client. Check the window badge next to the conversation. If it's closed, wait for the client to write again, or reach them through another channel if you have one.
I can't find any conversation. If no channel is connected yet, the list invites you to go to Settings > Messaging to connect one.
