How do I automate healing follow-up (aftercare)?
Set up a default aftercare protocol and a timeline of automatic follow-up messages to support your clients after their session.
Updated on July 3, 2026
Automated healing follow-up (aftercare) is set up in Settings > Healing follow-up: you choose a default protocol, turn on automatic sending of instructions, and build a timeline of follow-up messages after the session. This feature is rolling out gradually and isn't yet active on every account.
Choose the healing protocol
Three base protocols are available: Saniderm, plastic wrap, or dry healing. The chosen protocol becomes the one sent by default to your clients after a session, with instructions tailored to the method.
Turn on automatic sending
Once automatic sending is on, care instructions go out without you having to think about it after each session. The delivery channel is chosen among email, SMS, email and SMS, or WhatsApp, depending on what's available on your account.
Build the follow-up timeline
You can build a timeline of automatic follow-up messages, up to 5 steps, modeled on what a good manual follow-up would look like.
- Each step has a delay in days since the session.
- Each step carries an action: send a follow-up reminder (SMS or email), ask for a healing photo, or ask for a review.
- The cumulative day of each step is calculated automatically, so you can see the whole follow-up journey at a glance.
Touch-up policy
A dedicated section lets you define your free touch-up policy: the time window during which it applies, an optional price beyond that, a maximum number of touch-ups, whether it must be done by the same artist, and an automatic reminder about it.
Why this is useful
Healing follow-up is part of the invisible work that takes time: answering the same questions, following up for a check-in photo, restating the touch-up policy. Automating it frees up that time without taking anything away from the quality of the follow-up: the instructions sent are still yours, you're just choosing not to send them one by one anymore.
Edge cases
The Healing follow-up page doesn't show up in my settings. This feature is rolling out gradually and isn't yet active on every account.
The SMS or WhatsApp channel isn't available. These channels depend on options enabled on your account. Check Settings > Messaging settings or contact us if you think they should be available.
I'd rather keep a manual follow-up. Nothing forces you to turn on automatic sending: you can set up the default protocol without enabling follow-ups, and keep managing follow-up yourself.
