How do I join an artist's waitlist?

If no slot works for you, ask your artist to add you to their waitlist. They'll reach out by email or text as soon as a spot opens up.

Updated on July 3, 2026

If the booking calendar shows no slot that works for you, ask your artist directly to add you to their waitlist. There's nothing to do yourself on the booking page: they add your request on their end, and reach out as soon as a slot matching your request opens up.

Why a waitlist

An artist's schedule fills up fast, and some slots open up at the last minute: a no-show, a cancellation, a rescheduled appointment. Rather than let that time go to waste, the artist keeps a list of waiting clients and can offer that slot to someone whose request matches.

How to join

There's no self-service "join the waitlist" button on the booking page. To join, contact your artist directly, through the channel you already use with them (Instagram, message, email) and let them know:

  • the project you have in mind (area, style, approximate size),
  • your general availability (weekdays, weekends, mornings or afternoons),
  • a reference photo if you have one handy.

They then add your request to their waitlist.

What happens once you're on the list

When a slot opens up that matches your request, your artist may contact you to offer it, by email or text depending on how they've set things up. The message will tell you the proposed date and time. All you need to do is confirm your availability with them to lock in the slot.

Keep an eye on your messages and emails in the days after you join: some slots open up with very little notice, and a quick reply improves your chances of getting it.

If you don't hear back

Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee a slot: it depends on the artist's activity and how many people are already waiting. If time passes with no news, you can follow up with your artist directly to check on your request, or check back on their booking page in case a new slot has been published.

Once a slot is offered to you

If you accept the offer, the rest of the process is the same as a regular booking. See How do I book a slot with a tattoo artist? for the next steps, including if a deposit is required to confirm the appointment.
